One of the tricky parts of skiing in the Wasatch now is getting up at dawn patrol hours for weekend skiing. Generally if you want to not hit traffic going up the canyon, find a parking spot at trailheads, and not have a skied up backcountry you need to be up early. Sure there can be less traffic later in the day but often it can be a crap shoot or the relatively easy access areas are skied up.
We got Kasi up early and were able to get some really nice snow up around Green’s Basin and Silver Spoon area in Big Cottonwood. A few weeks back. With the plentiful sunshine we had to stick to slightly less southerly aspects for the better snow, which did work for the most part.
