Braaaahp!

June 24-25, 2018

Andreas and I went out for a weekend ride a couple weeks back.  This was actually the first time I’ve gone overnight with the motorcycle so it was nice.  We took a pretty circuitous route around the eastern side of the state.  The variation in Utah’s scenery was the highlight.  Barren deserts, mining canyons, high alpine plateaus, mountain roads and farmland were all on tour.  It was good time.

Fabulous road in the middle of nowhere. Too bad the scenery was marred by the oil extraction.
A giant reservoir at the foot of the Uinta Mountains. The water from this lake goes 37 miles through tunnels and pipes to the west side of the Wasatch.
Looking on the lower side of the dam. The road we take next goes up the valley in the center of the photo.

Short photo stop on the increadibly windy road up from the dam to a high alpine pass. The road is under this cliff band for most of the way.
A couple of possible ice routes up there in the winter.

Once out of the mountains we were back in farmland and these horses wanted a handout.
